Kick Off Summer with Smiles: CCE and Radio Kingston Launch Free, Daily Unity Arts Series This June!
Summer is officially here, the days are getting longer, and the air is getting warmer! To celebrate the sunshine and the joy of being together, the Center for Creative Education (CCE) and Radio Kingston are thrilled to invite the entire Kingston community to a free, daily Unity Arts Series.
Every weekday in June to August, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Radio Kingston Park (located at 693 Broadway) will transform into a vibrant hub of movement, music, creativity, and connection. Designed as the perfect way to unwind after the workday, this collaborative series offers something for everyone—completely free of charge.
"We wanted to create a space where neighbors can come together, shake off the workday, and just smile in the sunshine," said a spokesperson for CCE. "This series is all about celebrating our community, celebrating summer, and welcoming everyone with open arms."
What’s Happening This June:
Grab your friends, bring the family, and check out the daily lineup:
Open Mic Mondays: The stage is yours! The community is invited to share their voices, poetry, music, and stories in an open, supportive environment. Everyone is invited to participate, as long as performances are kept family-friendly!
West African Dance & Drumming Tuesdays: Feel the rhythm! Experience the incredible energy of West African culture with master drummer Muhammad Camara and master dancer Assane Sylla.
Work it Wednesdays: Get ready to groove! Shake up your midweek routine with fun, easy-to-follow Soul Line Dances. No experience required—just come ready to dance!
Slime Cart Thursdays: Messy, creative fun provided by My Kingston Kids for the young and young-at-heart. Join us for hands-on, exciting slime-making activities.
Fitness Fridays: End the week strong with high-energy fun, games, karate, and movement for all ages.
Keep an eye out for what's next! While June is packed with these fantastic activities, the fun doesn't stop here. Each month will bring a brand-new schedule with fresh events to keep the community smiling all summer long!
Special Community BBQs!
Mark your calendars for June 5th & 9th, July 10th & 24th, August 7th & 21st, and September 4th! On these specific days, regular programming will pause so the community can gather for free Community BBQs. Come hungry, leave happy, and enjoy good food with great neighbors.
